You can definitely make more money playing poker online by following three
basic poker strategies. First, take your time in selecting a poker table.
Second, pick the right position at the poker table, and finally, when you
should leave the table. Making the correct decisions in each of these
instances will mean the difference between winning and losing your poker
bankroll.

When deciding which poker table to play at, you should first observe the
playing style of the other players. You will see player styles that vary from
the chip pusher to the calling station. Where you position yourself is critical to
making more money in poker. You must position yourself properly to take
advantage of each player and their playing style. You want to be able to act
after the chip pusher, and before the limper. They can both be a source of
revenue for a smart player who reacts properly to their moves. You want to
see how the aggressive bettor will react before you have to act, and you
would only call or re-raise his bet with a superior hand. The caller should be
enticed to call your bets when you have a dominant hand. Do not push your
chips all in, as this may discourage the caller. By taking advantage of your
position at the poker table and understanding the style of the other players
at the poker table, you give yourself an edge. Taking advantage of the
personality of other players at your table is a key element of poker strategy.

I try to make it a cardinal rule that if I double up at a table, it is time to leave.
You can always come back to a table that you liked to play at, but you need
to protect your poker bankroll as well. Instead of risking your whole stack,
cash out your winnings and return to the table, or another table, starting off
with the minimum buy-in. This will ensure that your winnings remain
winnings, and you can not lose your winnings if you cash them out. Generally,
this poker strategy applies to all limits of play.

By applying these three general poker playing strategies, your poker bankroll
should begin to increase significantly. Patience and analysis will pay off for
you. Never jump into a poker game without first observing the other players,
and leave the table when you double up from your initial buy-in and you will
begin to make more money playing online poker.
